Nonpoint Source Pollution Webinar

Join PRWC and the CT State Water Planning Council for the next installment of the 2026 Webinar Series: Realizing Resilient Watersheds. This webinar, entitled Controlling Nonpoint Source Pollution, will provide an overview of Section 319 of the Clean Water Act and include examples of successful projects funded through Section 319 to reduce water pollution across the state. Registration is required.

Stream Temperature Monitoring

Head into the watershed with us to install
temperature data loggers in nearby streams.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside our staff and help protect cold-water habitat for trout and other local wildlife. No experience necessary! Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteer Stream Sampling

Wednesday, June 10 | 8:30-11:30AM

Join us to test for bacteria and nitrate pollution in local rivers and streams. You will be accompanied by an experienced staff member and will learn how to properly use data recording tools. No experience necessary! Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult

Paddle & Pulls

Help protect your local rivers and wildlife by joining us to remove invasive water chestnut from Lake Stibbs (Southbury Training School Pond)! No experience necessary! Participants are encouraged to bring their own kayak/canoe, paddle, and life jacket. Limited boats and gear are available upon request. Recommended for ages 14+

Learn to Paddle & Waterski Program

Saturday, June 13 | 9AM - 3PM

Join PRWC and Leap of Faith Adaptive Skiers for a fun day on Lake Zoar! Learn to paddle and waterski alongside our expert staff. We’ll provide you with everything you need to get started. Be sure to stick around for a summer BBQ lunch!

 

This program is free and open to participants of all abilities (ages 8+), with adaptive equipment and specialized instruction available to support individuals with disabilities. Participants under age
16 must be accompanied by an adult.
