PRWC invites you to mix and mingle with old and new friends at Woodbury’s Mill House Antiques and Gardens on Saturday evening June 11th in celebration of our region’s water resources. This year’s annual benefit, Jazz on the River features the Berkshire Jazz Orchestra. Guests will be treated to a live big band performance, fine cuisine and wines as well as silent and live auctions all in the beautiful Mill House gardens alongside the Nonnewaug River.
The Berkshire Jazz Orchestra is a 17 piece ensemble connecting audiences to the sonic power of a true big band. Within the ensemble creative jazz soloists are featured and bring new life, anticipation and energy to each performance. The orchestra recently performed at the Richter Art Association concerts and has been show cased at the Wilton Jazz Symposium. The Berkshire Jazz Orchestra will perform from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
During the evening’s celebration, Tom Crider of Southbury, CT, will be presented with The Dr. Marc J. Taylor Environmental Stewardship Award. Tom is president of the Southbury Land Trust and will be honored for his outstanding environmental leadership and enormous contributions toward protecting both our land and water resources for generations to come.
PRWC is delighted to have Connecticut Public Radio’s popular host and executive producer Faith Middleton return as Honorary Chair. Faith, a two-time winner of the Peabody Award and of other distinguished honors, has been an outstanding supporter of PRWC and passionately shares its dedication to the environment.
PRWC welcomes back entertaining auctioneers Dr. Marianne Bette and Rick Richardson. Marianne is a family practitioner in Southbury and serves on PRWC’s Board of Directors. Rick is a legal partner with Giuliano, Richardson, and Sfara, LLC in Woodbury and a long-time supporter of PRWC. Exciting auction items include magnificent vacation packages, extraordinary fine dining opportunities, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, fun outings, sporting packages, spa certificates and a wide variety of silent auction prizes.
Please join PRWC for Jazz on the River. Tickets are $75 per person and it is recommended that they be purchased in advance on-line or by calling 203-263-0076. All proceeds for the event support the work of PRWC. In the event of rain the celebration will held June 12th.
