Regina Badura and Joe Ruggiero were among the 60 people that joined Southbury Land Trust (SLT) and Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC) on October 30 for a guided walk along the Marc J. Taylor, MD Memorial Greenway as a way to honor Marc’s dedication to both organizations. Dr. Taylor, who passed away in June of 2012, is remembered as a man of great compassion who, as a medical doctor, healed the wounds and raised the spirits of his patients throughout greater Southbury. In his retirement, he turned his keen intellect and calm demeanor toward fostering coalition-based solutions for the benefit of the environment. For many years, Marc served on the Board for SLT and the PRWC, which he also co-founded. The Greenway is named in honor of the late Dr. Taylor who along with Tom Crider, both of Southbury, conceptualized an open space corridor following the Pomperaug River.
