Dear Friends and Neighbors:
As Treasurer of the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition’s (PRWC) Board of Directors, I am extremely proud of my new volunteer role. I have chosen to volunteer with PRWC because water is an essential ingredient for life and PRWC is committed to helping everyone in our community understand the importance of protecting it.
PRWC works to protect the Pomperaug River, its tributaries and our aquifer thereby making Southbury, Woodbury, Bethlehem, and neighboring towns a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
For 25 years, PRWC has been working tirelessly to protect, sustain, and restore the water resources of the Pomperaug Watershed through community wide education initiatives, on-the-ground conservation work, watershed science and research, and advocating for our water at the state and local level.
This year, we witnessed unprecedented impacts to our watershed. We saw firsthand the power of water and the threat that flash flooding and drought pose to the quality of our water and safety of our communities.
Through It all, PRWC was on the ground, keeping people informed, connecting affected residents with resources, and supporting recovery efforts. They were at the table with our local and state representatives as a trusted resource and a voice for the Pomperaug Watershed.
As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, PRWC relies on your support to continue protecting the rivers you love, your drinking water, and the safety of your community.
As such, I sincerely hope you will join me in supporting this organization and their extremely vital work by directing a tax-deductible donation to the Pomperaug River Water Coalition before the year-end.
You can donate online, using Venmo (@PomperaugRiver), or by check. Checks can be made out and mailed to PRWC at 39 Sherman Hill Rd., Woodbury, CT 06798. Also be sure to find out if your employers sponsors a matching gift program and learn about other tax advantages by gifting mature annuities or making Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRA. More information about this is located on the Donate section of our website.
Thank you for supporting your rivers!
