Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition regrets to inform the community that The Woodbury Earth Day Festival at Hollow Park on April 29, 2023 has been cancelled. PRWC made the difficult decision to cancel on April 27 based on the weather forecasted for Saturday which would make the experience difficult / unsafe for both the vendors and participants. The forecast called for steady rain and high winds which would potentially ruin vendor materials (tents, displays, products and inventory, etc). These conditions are also not conducive to parking on the field at Hollow Park. While we appreciate the community's willingness to join with us in light rain, the only logical decision given the forecast was to cancel.
There is no rain date or plan to reschedule for later this season. PRWC hopes to see you all next year. In the meantime, please be sure to celebrate Earth Day everyday by learning about, volunteering with, attending events presented by, and donating to the environmental and community organizations that were scheduled to participate in the celebration. Would-be event goers are also encouraged to purchase goods and services from the variety of local businesses who planned to be at the event. Many of them have products for sale throughout the community as well as through their websites. The full list of vendors and exhibitors that were going be at Woodbury Earth Day 2023 is posted on the event website at www.woodburyearthday.org/exhibitors.
